I often wonder how much time I spend on facebook.com. I hope it's less than I think, but I will find myself looking at a friend's picture and see another friend in the picture, then click or her name, then find out that she's a famous hair dresser, then find out she dated my ex-boyfriend who is now in Georgia...blah blah blah.
Well, the other day on facebook.com I noticed that I was no longer friends with a certain individual. I realized it when I typed in the first letter of this person's name, and their name did not appear as it usually does at the top of the list. I wasn't even trying to go to this person's page.
I get that sometimes you delete people. Maybe it was some boy you met at a party who you thought was cool, but then you found out he was a vegetarian...any who, this person had actually blocked me.
Why would somebody block me? I don't consider myself to be anymore than the normal amount of crazy. I haven't spoken to this person...It kind of hurt my feelings and it made me consider the pros and cons of facebook.com.
Pros: 1) Everyone in Chile uses it, so I keep up with all my mission friends.
2) I like to log in under my mom's account and leave funny messages on my siblings' walls
3) People share informative and entertaining links.
4) It's great for getting word out about parties
I'm sure there are a lot more. Feel free to share.
Cons: 1) Big waste of time. As mentioned above, it's easy to get lost in a maze of names and photos.
2) Sometimes it takes the surprise out of people. I like to know that a person loves baking when they tell me themselves (hopefully with a baked treat in hand). Rather than just reading about it.
3) I take it personally (obviously) also I requested this girl to be my friend and she rejected it. I also feel bad if I feel like a rejecting a friendship.

Kristin Pick unfriended me. After all our good times in nursing school...
Happens to the best of us. At least, that's what I keep telling myself. ;)
Amy! I read your comment and it made me wonder if she had unfriended me. Yep! It's not even being defriended, this person has done that to me before, and then re friended me. It's being blocked. One girl told me, "you only block people you can't emotionally handle."
I've only blocked one person, and it was my ex-boyfriend.
This person is also an ex...not boyfriend, but there is some history there.
It kind of makes me feel like a horrible person. Like I'm justifiably "blockable" to him. It's also weird because I haven't spoken to him or seen him for a few months.
Sorry I blocked you on facebook.com. I feel bad about it. I do love that you call it facebook.com here and in the flesh. I'm ScAreD to see who has blocked me. Oh boy. I agree with you on that facebook can take away some mystery or treasures about a person that are just more fun to find out on your own. Love your guts. Lets book sin town asap.
Ha Ha! Heids you are always blocking me!
Vicki, was Mike Lee the person who blocked you? Because I might be able to see how he wouldn't be able to emotionally handle you. Also, how do you know if someone has blocked you? I've had some friends disappear, but I think they quit facebook...at least that's the story I'm going to believe.
Logan,
You guessed it! Maybe it was when I made fun of him for wearing Ron Paul underpants...who knows?
I suppose another reason to block someone is because they are crazy. I'm barely crazy.
You can't find a person anymore if they have blocked you. I only knew because my roommates could see his page, but I couldn't. If no one can find them, then they probably deactivated their account. This person has done that too. He has also defriended me then added me, twice. He's kind of dramatic.
